I had a couple of requests for a list of Christmas resources after I posted the Thanksgiving activities, so I compiled one for you. I tried to provide some variety, as I know families like to celebrate this season in different ways. Also, I did my best to organize them into categories, but some may overlap.
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”- Luke 2:11
Praise God for the gift of His Son, and have a beautiful Christmas celebrating Christ’s birth with your families.
Books:
Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey
Jotham’s Journey – *There are 4 in this series to choose from: Jotham’s Journey, Tabitha’s Travels (my kids favorite), Bartholomew’s Passage, and Ishtar’s Odyssey. Probably best for older elementary and up
The Tale of the Three Trees –*There’s argument about whether this is an Easter resource or a Christmas one. I would say it’s both!
Crafts:
Pipe Cleaner Candy Canes – *Can be used with this printable of the candy cane poem and story
Popsicle Stick Christmas Trees
Recipes:
Graham Cracker Gingerbread Houses
Curriculums: (Each of which will probably include more book suggestions, recipes, and crafts. Check for ages – some are for younger kids and some are “all ages”)
A Gather Round Christmas – *A lot of you suggested this one!
Advent: (Check for ages – some are for family/all ages and some are for families with young children)
For Parents or Teens:
A couple of disclaimers: Some of these I have personally used, however, some are suggestions that were given to me through IG or FB, and therefore, I have not gone through each book or curriculum personally. At first glance, these resources seemed to be safe theology-wise. But please use discernment, as with anything else. I did my best to stay away from Santa because in our house we don’t “do Santa” and I also tried to stay away from any second commandment violations….but both Santa and 2CV seem to creep in everywhere.
